Life in Jersey Village
Cypress Fairbanks, or more fondly known as Cy-Fair, is one of the largest communities in Northwest Houston. Cy-Fair encompasses 186 square miles and includes Cypress and the city of Jersey Village. This expansive area is located along U.S. Highway 290 (Northwest Freeway) twenty miles (32 km) northwest of Downtown Houston.
Two major freeways are found in the Cy-Fair area – U.S. 290 and State Highway 249, serving as the area’s major links with Houston. The Sam Houston Tollway serves as a major connection to areas located both east and south of Cy-Fair.

Entertainment

The Berry Center is 65-acre site and home to the district’s second athletic stadium. It is also used for district-wide staff development for teachers and staff; graduation ceremonies. Berry Center is also available for non-district events and company functions.
Sam Houston Race Park is a Class I thoroughbred racing facility, which draws people from throughout the state of Texas. The showground features live entertainment from national touring country and rock acts.

Transportation
Transportation in the Cypress Fairbanks area is supported by Bush Intercontinental Airport, two freeways and a tollway.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport is located just down the Sam Houston Tollway from Cy-Fair. Most local residents and businesses are only a twenty-minute drive from the terminal buildings.
The Port of Houston is the nation’s third largest ocean port is located 25 miles southeast of the Cy-Fair area.
Major commercial rail lines in the north Houston region include Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroads. Amtrak includes Houston in its national passenger service network.
Twenty eight park and ride routes are provided by Houston’s Metropolitan Transit Authority’s (METRO) 25 Park and Ride lots. The Northwest Station and the Cypress Park & Ride located on U.S. Highway 290 offers a nearby alternative for automobile commuters.
