Darcy Mingoia resigns as chamber president

At the June 19 general membership luncheon, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of President Darcy Mingoia announced she had submitted to the board her resignation effective Jan. 1, 2008. Chamber members responded with a standing ovation in honor of Mingoia’s nine years of leadership.

“As the old English proverb states, ‘All good things must come to an end,’” Mingoia said. “And so must my role as President of the Chamber. It is time for me to make some changes in my professional career and pursue other opportunities in our community.”

“The Cy-Fair Chamber will always have a special place in my heart – we have accomplished a lot together and I expect nothing but success for this organization as we move in to 2008.”

Mingoia said she would carry on with her daily responsibilities, and complete all pending obligations with the Chamber in the next six months.

Her son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child in mid-December, and Mingoia said she is looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild and celebrating the holidays with her family.

Jennifer Pittman, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber board chairman, said the board and chamber members are also looking forward to welcoming Mingoia’s grandchild, and are excited about everything she has in store for her in the future.

“She is a great mentor, friend and community leader,” Pittman said. “We want to thank her for her service and the strong foundation she has created for this chamber.”

Pittman is heading the search committee for a new chamber president. Those interested in applying for the position should send a resume and salary history to: Jennifer Pittman, AmegyBank of Texas, 12334 Barker-Cypress Road, Cypress, TX 77429. “Thank you for allowing me to serve you as president – I am looking forward to these final few months and, of course, to new adventures in 2008!” Mingoia said.
